Love the story building the end was very fitting. I want to learn more about Eloh new direction and his ending story.

The author does an amazing job of bringing several intricate storylines together in this final novel of the trilogy. This book takes you through so many emotions as you experience what the characters are going through. A very impressive and complex story by an author with great imagination.

I fell in love with Toklien when I was 13, and in many ways still find him to be the gold standard, though in fairness i do not read other people's books in comparison. I use tokien as inspiration to seek originality and curiosity, where I can read a story and simply fall into the story and not rush the ending.I am also more into characters than I am fighting scenes and action for action's sake. In current writings I often feel like there is just too much action for no other purpose than not having to have an engaging story.I found these 3 books to avoid most of those issues. Writing multiple POV stories has to be difficult. When I finsihed the Jordan series, after 14 books and 28000 pages seemingly, I found the conclusion to be very rushed. I don't want to write spoilers but even with cloaking there may be some implied spoilers in this , so if you have not finsihed the series, stop here!Long intro I know. I just did not have time to write a shorter one :) The good here is in plain sight. Characters were enjoyable and had substance. The storyline did not bog down, and while there was perhaps more action than I needed, it certainly was not excessive. I read a lot of fiction these days, and this was far better than many or even most.I do hope some of the storylines continue in a future book. I did feel like Elohl was somewhat ignored in this book until the end and was hoping to see him grow more. If there is a 4th book, that has a chance to happen. The storyline of Olea and Khouren could have used some more detail for my liking, perhaps in a 4th book more could be done with their characters, even if in the Void. Dherran's story line sort of felt unfinished.I fully realize it is very hard to write so many POV chgaracters and then find a way to wrap them up into an ending. Had khouren been handled differently, it may have helped with the Eleshen ending that felt a bit incomplete, as well as Ghrenna's.All that said, it was a well written series, and I hope Jean is able to continue with her work, and perhaps in time add a 4th book to this series to tidy up some of the threads. Overall, highly recommend!

Very well crafted story, full of amazing characters, each with their own important contribution to the overall narrative. Very descriptive, full of amazing battle scenes and individual mental/physical power struggles.One of my most enjoyable reads of 2023.

Another fantastic book just finished by Jean Lowe Carlson. I enjoyed very much and so will other readers who take up reading this series.

Excellent complex characters and plots , coherent politics, a more realistic approach to the risks in the games of power in that some primary characters do not survive, etc. Magic system is very creative, not at all formulaic. There are some elements that strongly bend the believable, but not too many, and they move the story line with purpose.

A complex society of ancient powers and untapped magic comes together in a final showdown that threatens to tear the world asunder but after the dust settles the real threat still exists and Jean Lowe Carlson’s most compelling characters are not finished yet. Great fun, good writing, very descriptive.

The Rennkavi would bring the Unity and save the world from the red-eyed demon.With twists and turns, back-stabbing and unexpected alliances, this book closes out the Kingsmen Chronicles. There’s not a happy ending for everyone. In fact, the person who deserves it the most, doesn’t get it.The epilogue is a teaser for the new series.

I really enjoyed this series. There is some rough language so be warned. I found myself putting the first two book down then coming back to them. Now the third book I devoured. It was different enough to keep my interest and honest enough to make me feel it.

There is love, death,And new and old beginnings. It was hard for meTo see characters die. But It was beautiful to seeLove continue to grow and good verses evil.

In the first 1/4 of the book there are not many actions, it's mostly slow thinking. I almost stopped reading unconsciously, more and more time passing between each time I picked up the book. Also there are new storylines introduced, which complicate the world so much you start loosing track.Then suddenly it turns to action, and the story is back to it's own self.In this final book, I was expecting every last piece of the puzzle to fall into place. However, I think some themes got lost and never mentioned again, some storylines not completed, and some small details got forgotten. The big storyline rounded up, and all in all I really enjoyed this complex world, but I would have enjoyed every little thing explained and brought to satisfaction.This way, the ending was moody and without euphoria.However, I still enjoyed this series very much and do recommend it.

This book and its series are phenomenal peices of work. The author develops multiple unique characters identifying important challenges and needs and expertly weaves their lives together. Each book in the series is well written and so generous. The current trend is to end a book after the first section of the story, requiring a series of ten books to complete the most simple stories. This author gives you everything and so much more than you could ask for.

Waiting for this book to release was absolutely the longest few months of my life. I'm an avid reader, and have been known to binge read ( think netflix, but books) a series in a few days. All the waiting was worth every second. If you don't read anything else, read the Kingsmen Chronicles trilogy. You will not regret the hours you spend lost in this amazing, beautifully rich and wonderfully developed world, characters, and story. If you are like me, you'll spend some time crying, and the anxious suspense of figuring out exactly what is happening will drive you to call in sick to work to finish the book.The book hangover is real.

This was a thrilling conclusion to the first two excellent books. Loved the characters, and thoroughly enjoyed their stories and their deft interweaving. Just as in real life, everything didn't turn out exactly as I might have wished. Tragedy was visited on people I'd grown fond of. But...! There's more! And I can't wait to read it!

Well written,well developed characters and world. One of my criteria for a good sci fi or fantasy is a well developed world to hold it all together. This country is sprawling and diverse but creates a memorable and fantastic place. The characters are strong with great humanity. Elohl grows painfully into the Uniter of of all nations but at a loss of love and inner peace. Every character in this tale pays a high price for their ultimate happiness or salvation. ILl this is a bit extreme at times together,

I have read and reviewed the first two in the series, and I loved them. This book is not only the magical place to understand the rest of the insights from the series, but it is also one of the lovely times where the third book in the trilogy is better than its previous volumes. The author did a fantastic job of tying up loose ends, making sure we understand the conclusion to any plots and subplots that came up through the series, while also giving us answers to mysteries that were part of the story. And while my review sounds very dry, Carlson some how did all of this while building excitement and throwing in aspects that while were clearly part of her plan, were a complete surprise to me. She put forward creativity, attention to detail, and a many details that told me how much she put into this book. Loved it! I might go back and read them again.

Loved this series! The author delivers fresh and original imagining of different worlds and such a range of complex and powerful characters. Though this end left me with more questions than answers! I hope the story continues to pull the pieces of the puzzle together. The romantic in me would have liked more of a neat resolution for my favourite characters, but I hope the author delivers that and some more answers, in the next trilogy somehow. Read the whole series. It's amazing.

I love Jean's writing style. It's some of the the most descriptive I've ever read. Nonetheless, the Kindle version that was delivered to my device (from a pre-order months prior) has editing notes, random highlights, and the occasional typo.It does not detract from the story. In fact, it is interesting to see part of the remnants left by the author's writing methods.That being said, be forewarned. It may still be a work in progress.I give four stars only because of the presence of author notes and marks.
